DESCRIPTION
The Velo City Sprint Camp is a lively two-day summer camp experience, designed to help you understand the art of sprinting, in an “easy to apply” manner, that you will readily be able to utilize, as you move forward in your respective sport.
Tentatively, on Day 1, in the morning, you will be taken thru an extensive warmup routine, properly preparing you for optimum sprinting. We will finish the morning session re-enforcing proper acceleration mechanics and what it takes to “take off” optimally. After lunch (which will be provided), we will spend the afternoon exploring subject areas that could be holding you back from performing at your absolute best – primarily matters of the mind. Afterwards, we will ideally finish the day with a sprinter specific pool session and a campus tour (for those interested in the university).
Tentatively, on Day 2, after properly warming up, we will work on maximum velocity development. We will then finish the morning session with a short speed endurance workout (specific to either short sprinters or long sprinters). The afternoon will be spent doing video analysis of each individual camper’s maximum velocity mechanics, and will then culminate with a speed and power specific strength training session, ultimately finishing the 2-day camp with information on prehab/rehabbing of injuries and time for Q&A.
