About Us
Leinster Rugby School of Excellence
Residential and Satellite Camps
Leinster Rugby is a world-leading professional and amateur rugby organization located in Dublin, Ireland, with an unrivaled track record in rugby talent development. Leinster’s rugby athletes currently represent over 70% percent of the Irish Rugby national team, currently ranked second by World Rugby.
Leinster Rugby has partnered with Syracuse University to deliver a residential School of Excellence camp in Syracuse, New York. Now in its third year, the School of Excellence in Syracuse has attracted athletes from all over the U.S., as well as Europe. Given the popularity of the residential camp in Syracuse, Leinster Rugby and Syracuse University are now offering a non-residential satellite camp in Maryland (hosted by Georgetown Preparatory School), and planning to offer a second satellite camp in Colorado. The School of Excellence camps aim to develop smart and skillful rugby players and inspire the mindset and training habits that will help them achieve their full potential.
Benefitting from coaching skills and expertise only Leinster Rugby can offer and an 8-to-1 camper/coach ratio, the School of Excellence camps will provide aspiring rugby athletes, ages 13-17 (girls and boys), with a comprehensive rugby training and educational program that simulates a week in the life of a professional rugby player. Campers will learn to play the Leinster way and gain a greater understanding of the game and key rugby values such as teamwork, commitment, integrity, and communication.
Campers should expect a structured rugby development program, emphasizing game understanding skill development, and position-specific focus and training. In particular, campers will develop cutting edge skills and learn to perform them under challenging conditions through coaching in a professional environment.
