ABOUT US

Marymount University 3E Summer Camp

Explore, Enrich, Enjoy!

At Marymount’s 3E Camp, we create a fun environment for campers supported by Marymount education students as they assist campers with exploring their interests. Campers will be in small groups with a low camper to counselor ratio of no more than 4 students to 1 adult. It is guided by Marymount University Department of Education faculty and students. The low camper to adult ratio allows campers to enjoy from a selection of STEAM projects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) that are carried out at their developmental level. Throughout each week of camp, campers will be able to choose among a variety of have choices and can sign up to spend time on their projects that pique their interest.

At 3E, every camper enhances their skills, enjoys projects, and enriches their summer experience. Teen campers are Counselors In Training (CIT) and learn to lead. 3E is for campers who want a happy and safe space in which to create new social connections and grow academically. We want them to make choices and to ‘Be who you are and be that perfectly well.

Having choices allows campers to enjoy many an areas of personal interest. Social activities include time at lunch to talk and time after lunch to play computer games are read together. We also have afternoon choices that include playing games. Academic projects include exploring nature and enriching their knowledge through fun activities that focus on making things that involve science, mathematics, language arts, and fine arts.

Hi! My name is Ana Lado and I received my doctorate from Georgetown University and am a full time Professor of Education in the School of Education and Human Services. I have directed summer camps with Marymount students as camp counselors. My favorite activities are ones in which we make things that children get excited about, such as boats that float, hoover crafts that move, and electronic gadgets that buzz. I look forward to enjoying camp with your children and the Marymount counselors.
